Catskill Mountain Shakespeare presents a special ONE NIGHT ONLY event, a bare knuckled, barroom performance of Twelfth Night on Saturday December 6 at 7pm.
Forget plush seats and polite applause. Shakespeare’s crowd was loud, drunk, and gloriously alive, buying beer mid-scene and shouting at the actors. No directors. No stage lights. Just chaos, courage, and killer verse.
That’s us! We read the play once. Rehearse it once. Then we grab a drink and throw down. One night. One shot. One performance. No safety net.
We’re not recreating Elizabethan London, we’re throwing a party where the Bard meets the bar. Expect laughter, heartbreak, debauchery, and a little poetry between rounds.
The bar's in the front, the play's in the back. Visit one and then the other - in the order and with the frequency that you see fit.
No director, one rehearsal, at a bar. We try to be as recklessly playful with it as we are deadly serious.
